Newborn Photo Shoot

I just wanted to share my favorites from Adeline's photo shoot at the hospital.  Bella Baby Photography comes in to take complimentary photos.  It is such a great service, and you only need to pay if you decide to order the photos. I think they turned out great!

A + MR = BFFs

Today Adeline met her first BFF (best friend forever):  Mary Ryland!
Mary Ryland was born just 11 days before Adeline. Her mom, Meredith, and I had a fun afternoon eating lunch together and just hanging out with our sweet girls.  They are already in sync - they ate at the same time, slept at the same time, and even pooped at the same time! We can't wait to watch them grow together and start to interact with each other.

Visitors

We've had lots of visitors the past couple of weeks!  I've tried to take pictures of everyone, but I know I missed a few.  I LOVE having visitors - it can get pretty quiet around here!

Becky stopped by after work last week:

Joanna stopped in to see Adeline and chat. It was great to hear about how things are going at work - I miss all my co-workers!

Val brought us our favorite - Superstar's Pizza!

Neal was in town briefly and sweetly stopped in to see us.  Thanks for the adorable burp cloth and bib - we've used them already! (Next time bring Rushman with you! :))

Fun Weekend

This weekend, Adeline met her Ya-ya and Poppa (Rob's parents) for the second time.  The last time they saw her, she was just born and in the NICU - she has changed quite a bit since then!  We had a fun weekend just visiting and touring around Richmond a little bit.  On Sunday, we went out to brunch.  Adeline slept the whole time!

Update!

Adeline had another appointment today with the pediatrician for a weight check.  She weighs.....drumroll please....

  5 lbs 10 oz!!!!!!!!!


That's about a pound more than her last appointment 10 days ago!! The doctor was very pleased with her progress and we are so proud.  She is sleeping well, eating well, and growing more every day! She wakes up every 3 hours to eat during the night.  Otherwise, she sleeps well and I have been getting about 6 hours of sleep per night. We are very lucky.

After her appointment today, we went to the grocery store. It was getting close to her feeding time, so she chewed on her bear and was content. I thought it was pretty cute.

Many of you have been asking how I am feeling, so I thought I should mention that I feel great! It is hard to believe I was in the ICU and had a life-threatening condition less than 6 weeks ago.  I don't have any symptoms or lasting effects other than my c-section scar.  The incision is healing well and doesn't hurt at all.  I have a followup appointment with my doctor next week, and they will do some blood-work to check my liver function and anemia.  I expect everything to be back to normal.

All I can say is that I believe now, more than ever, in the power of prayer.  Thank you.

Happy Father's Day!

To celebrate Rob's first Father's Day, we spent the day doing what he enjoys - we went out to brunch with friends, watched golf on TV, and ate his favorite orange chicken from Trader Joe's for dinner.  Here are some pictures taken before brunch:

1 Month Old!

Happy 1 month birthday to Adeline!  I will be taking a picture of her on the 15th of every month in her rocking chair.  It will be fun to watch her grow!

 On Monday, my sweet friend Laura brought dinner to us.  It was delicious, especially the decadent dessert!

 On Tuesday, Jessi came to visit:

 My mom went home today.  We will miss having her around, but she will be back in a few weeks.  It was so nice to have an extra pair of hands and to have someone to talk to all day.  We were very sad to see her go!

Our first weekend with Adeline

We had a fun weekend being at home with Adeline.  She has been sleeping well and wakes up to eat every 3 hours.  We were surprised to learn how many little noises she makes in her sleep! She continues to have a very sweet, laid back personality and she rarely cries.

We had some lovely visitors who brought us delicious dinners on Friday and Saturday.

On Monday, Adeline had her first doctor appointment.  She weighs 4 lbs, 11 oz!  We were also very pleased to know that she is maintaining her temperature well.  After her appointment, we introduced Adeline to Nordstrom and Short Pump.  It's never too early to learn about shopping, right?! (I hope Rob doesnt read this...)
