Happy Halloween!

I have MUCH more to share from this weekend, but I wanted to post a few Halloween pics first.

Adeline was dressed as a pumpkin most of the day...

(She had just woken up... reason for the grumpy face in this one)

For the daycare Halloween party, she dressed as a ladybug:

Thank you to Jessi for lending the costume to us!

Since it was cold and rainy, we stayed home to greet the trick-or-treaters.

And here is Adeline's first art project, done at daycare today!
If you can't tell, they are little footprint ghosts!
I was so excited to hang her first piece of artwork on the fridge.

Hope you had a fun Halloween!

Our little Pumpkin

This week, Adeline tried rice cereal for the first time.  Here is here reaction to her very first taste:

She wasnt sure at first...
"What was that?!"

Then, "Mmmm I like it"

"Yummy!"

We've been feeding her cereal every night for the past few nights and she seems to be getting the hang of it!

Weekend in Raleigh

Last Friday we drove down to Raleigh to visit Rob's parents and attend my college roommate, Lindsey's wedding.
On Friday night, we went to an after-rehearsal-dinner party, which was so much fun!  They had a bluegrass band playing, and it was a great opportunity to catch up with the bride and groom before the wedding day.  Here's a picture of the groom's cake (he loves hiking and all kinds of outdoor activities)

On Saturday, I went to lunch with Katie (my other college roommate) and we spent a few hours just catching up and enjoying the awesome weather.  Adeline was such an angel; she just sat in her carseat and enjoyed the weather too!

On Saturday afternoon, our friends John Mark and Audrey stopped by with their 7-week-old, Everette.  John Mark was Rob's Best Man.  They live in Winston-Salem, but were in Raleigh for a different wedding.  It was so great to see them and meet little Everette!

It's hard to remember Adeline being that small, but it was only a few short months ago!

All 4 of us

We left Adeline with Rob's parents for the evening so we could go to the wedding.  We are so grateful they could take care of her, and we had a great night out!

Lindsey's reception was at an old warehouse in Durham, and they absolutely transformed the space from a warehouse full of boxes to a beautiful venue!

I loved their cake topper (both Lindsey and Bryan have black labs)

The beautiful bride!

The band was awesome!

We spent most of the night on the dance floor...

Elon Phi Mu Girls

This picture totally cracks me up....

When Rob is having fun, he has a signature dance move we like to call "drop it like it's hot"

He suddenly drops down and smacks the floor with his hand.

For those of you who have witnessed it, you know how hilarious it is....

What a fun night!!! Thanks, Lindsey and Bryan, for sharing your day with us!
And thanks to Yaya and Poppa for taking such great care of Adeline!

5 Months Old!

Adeline turned 5 months on Oct 15th.  In the past month, she's started sprouting a little tooth, laughing, bearing weight on her legs when she's held in a standing position, and propping herself on her elbows when she's on her stomach.  She drools a lot and is constantly chewing on her fingers now that she has a tooth coming in.  She is a very happy baby, full of smiles most of the time.  She especially likes to watch Rob and she smiles every time he comes into the room.  She sleeps about 11 hours each night and eats about 5 ounces at a time.  She is just so much fun to play with!  I spend a lot of time trying to get her to laugh - I can't get enough of that sweet sound!

Here's her monthly picture!

And I couldn't resist a little Halloween outfit...

October videos

I'm trying to get a video of Adeline laughing, but of course she stops as soon as I get the camera out! Here's a video of me trying unsuccessfully to get her to laugh

She absolutely loves bath time.  She is so quiet and content the whole time.

She is really into "talking" and squealing now.  You can hear her in this video.

I think I might make another Christmas one in a couple months.

Ok I think that's all we've been up to the first 10 days in October!  I'll be back in a few minutes with videos.  Next weekend we are going down to Raleigh/Durham for my friend Lindsey's wedding, so I'm sure we'll have lots more to share then!
