September

We started out September with a little home improvement project on Labor Day.  We re-tiled the kitchen floor and then Rob re-did the baseboard molding under the cabinets.  One day, we would like to remodel the entire kitchen, but this was an inexpensive upgrade to get us through the next several years.  It's much better than the old linoleum!

The following weekend, we went to the Farmers Market and playground on a cool Saturday morning

Adeline's friend Bella had a princess-themed birthday party that afternoon

The following week, I took a day off from work and Adeline and I went to see her first movie in the theater!  We went to see the movie "Planes", which has been in the theater for several weeks, so we had the place to ourselves!

We had such a fun day together - we went shopping, met some friends at Starbucks, and went to the movies.

That weekend, we went back to the lake to see Rob's grandparents.  It was another rainy Saturday, but we had fun just hanging around the house.  Rob also managed to play a few holes of golf in the rain.

Adeline likes to go on the "ride" up and down the stairs with Grammy.

Of course, Sunday was a beautiful day, but we headed home around lunchtime.

We met some friends at a local park on Sunday evening for some live music. Adeline had an absolute blast running around with her friends and eating cupcakes!

Rob borrowed a ride-on mower from a friend later in the month, and was in heaven riding around the yard while aerating and enjoying a cold beer.

Every other Friday, Ms Chris has the "Fun Bus" park outside her house for a fun morning of tumbling for the kids. The inside of the bus is filled with gymnastic mats, balls, and all kinds of tumbling equipment. At the end, the kids exit the bus via a slide in the back!   Adeline loves it!

The last weekend of September was another busy one, with the Heart Walk on Saturday morning....

And co-hosting a sweet friend's baby shower in the afternoon.

On Sunday, a friend from college, Alli, and her family stopped by on their way through town. Her daughter Caroline is about a year younger than Adeline, and they had so much fun together!

August

Here's what we were up to in August:

We went back to Smith Mountain Lake in early in the month.

Rob managed to squeeze in a few holes of golf

We went for a ride on the boat

I think it's awesome Grandad can still get on the floor to color with Adeline.

We had such a fun weekend with perfect weather!

This is a typical afternoon activity for Adeline:  Playing with sidewalk chalk and riding her bike on the driveway.  She also likes to organize the chalk in a perfect line. (wonder where she gets that from?!)

Rob built a beautiful mantle for our fireplace.  I love it!

We went back to the lake later in the month.  It was cold and rainy, but a perfect weekend to snuggle on the couch!

Gram found some creative ways to entertain Adeline

Adeline acquired a new accessory.  In addition to her sunglasses, she now requires a backpack.

At the end of the month, Adeline and I drove to Lancaster to spend a few days with my family.  Rob had to stay in Richmond and work, but Adeline was very well-behaved in the car, so I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the drive was!

One of the first things on the agenda was playing with little Julia, my best friend Kelly's daughter.

We also visited the children's museum where my mom works in the summer

And visited the local dairy

Nope... still not a morning person....
