Fall Fun

Last weekend, Rob's parents came to town and we had such a fun, activity-filled weekend in Richmond.  On Friday night, Rob's parents stayed in with Adeline while we went to an engagement party.  We had a blast and stayed out until almost midnight, which is really late for us!

On Saturday afternoon, we went to the pumpkin patch for a birthday party with Adeline's friends from Miss Chris' house.  Adeline was SO excited to see her friends and repeated their names for days leading up to the party.

And she recently discovered Elmo, so she was excited to see him too!

Adeline's first bite of a cake pop

She wasnt a huge fan.

But the birthday boy loved his!

We took a hayride to pick pumpkins (and of course Elmo had to come too)

It was such a fun day! Miss Chris totally outdid herself on the party, and everything was just perfect!

On Sunday afternoon, we went downtown to check out the Folk Festival.  We've never been there before, but we plan to make it a yearly tradition.  The weather was perfect and Adeline enjoyed dancing to the music

And playing in the kid's zone

love this picture of our sweet girl

Rob and I even attempted the hula hoops!

And last but not least, I had to share this picture of Adeline with pigtails.  It's too cute not to share!

Happy Fall, Y'all!

Trip to PA

A few weeks ago, we drove up to PA to visit my family.  We arrived on Friday afternoon, just in time for a tailgate party and my brother Austin's football game. Lots of our family came to see us, including my aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents! I also got to spend a lot of time with my BFF Kelly.  We were so glad to see everyone and Adeline just loved being the center of attention. She also learned to say "touchdown!" and she had a blast cheering in the stands at the football game.

I definitely did not take enough pictures - I was too busy talking and chasing after Adeline.

On Saturday night, we had a big family dinner, which was total chaos but so much fun!

Thanks to everyone who came to see us!  We miss you already!

Adeline's new adventure

At the end of September, we made a difficult decision to move Adeline from childcare with Miss Chris to a new school closer to our home.  While the 25-mile-per-day gas and time savings was a no-brainer, it was very hard for all of us to say goodbye to Miss Chris.  She has taken care of Adeline since she was 3 months old and is very dear to all of us.  Luckily, we still get to see her sometimes! (those pictures are coming up!)

On Adeline's last day with Miss Chris, they had a little goodbye party, complete with cards and cookies.

Dance Party time!

So sweet

We are excited for Adeline's new adventure, and most excited to be able to spend more time with her at home and less time in the car!

New House pics!

This post is mostly for our grandparents who were requesting pictures of our new house :)  To see more pictures of Adeline, scroll to the next post!

I know I promised more pictures of the new house months ago - sorry for the delay!  Just a disclaimer: we definitely still have a lot of work to do but we've made a lot of progress!

Here's the front of the house.  So far, we got a new roof, painted the front doorm and cleaned up the yard a bit.

We're on the corner so you can drive around to the garage underneath the house

Here's the view when you first walk in the front door. The brick on the right is the back-side of the fireplace in the living room.

Here's the dining room.  We still need a rug, curtains, and some fresh paint in here.

This is the kitchen.  We painted the walls and cabinets the day we moved in, and also hung new light fixtures and took some of the cabinet doors off for a more modern look.  The appliances are from our old house, with the exception of the dishwasher.  The dishwasher is hideous, but it works well so it is staying for now!

The blue chairs are not this bright in person - they are closer to a navy blue.

Off the kitchen, we have a sunroom.  It's heated and cooled so we can enjoy it year-round. We also eat out here sometimes.

This is the den in the basement.  We love having all this space for Adeline's toys!
In this room, Rob filled in a random door and replaced the lights but otherwise we havent done much work in here yet.  We hope to replace the carpeting down the road and get another club chair.

We also have an office, laundry, storage, and half bath down here but I didnt get a picture of those rooms.

Ok, here we are back upstairs at the front door.

This is the living room

This hallway goes back to the bedrooms.

Here's Adeline's room!
We tore out the existing ugly blue carpet right away, and also painted in here.

Somehow I forgot to take pictures of the other bedrooms and bathrooms, but this gives you a good tour of the new house.  Hope you enjoyed it!
