9 Months

Adeline is 9 months old!

This month, she started to move around more.  She can sit and reach for toys, hold a toy in each hand and bang them together, and she looks for toys when she drops them.  She also started to show her personality - and she can be very stubborn! (...wonder where she gets that from?!)  She also took her first face plant on the floor this month, and ended up with a bruised forehead and scratched nose. Luckily, she is pretty tough and only cries for a few seconds when she gets hurt.

She loves to laugh, she loves our dog Sunny, and most of all, she loves to be around people.  The grocery store is one of her favorite places.

She says dada, umum (....almost mama, but not quite), and baba.

She eats shredded chicken, all kinds of veggies, all kinds of fruit, yogurt, and oatmeal.  She started being able to use a sippy cup and bottle all by herself, and I think she'll be feeding herself totally within the next month or so.

We just love our sweet girl! Look how much she's grown!

Here are some videos of Adeline having fun in her exersaucer.

Chicago

In early February, we took a trip to Chicago.  I was attending a conference and presenting research, and Rob and Adeline were along for the ride.
We were a little nervous about our first airplane trip, but everything worked out really well.  We packed very lightly, and only brought 1 suitcase for the 3 of us, plus a stroller and carry-on bag.

Adeline did this on the plane:
She slept the whole time, and didnt wake up until we were landing!

We stayed in a nice hotel and had fun playing on the big bed

This was a little surprise to me...

...no bath tub!  So we had to get a little creative with baths in the sink.

This was the view from our hotel room.  We could see Lake Michigan and Soldier field.

On Thursday, while I was away in class all day, Rob took Adeline to the aquarium.  I was impressed that he was able to load Adeline and all of her stuff into a cab to the aquarium!

Here she is with the Sears tower.

I think she was more interested in the people than the animals.

On Friday, I helped present our research poster.  I'm so lucky to work at a great place with so many opportunities!

It snowed on Friday, which was really no big deal in Chicago, but we were excited.

After classes on Saturday, we went to the Hancock building and rode the elevator up to the 96th floor.  It was so much fun, and we had a great view of the city!

On Saturday night, we met up with some friends from Elon who live in Chicago.  We havent seen them in years, so it was great to catch up and introduce them to Adeline.

It was a very busy, but fun week! Our next adventure is next month, when we are going to Florida!

February

Where has a month gone?!
I can't believe it's been an entire month since my last post.  We've been very busy, and I've taken over 100 pictures since then.  I'll have to break this month into a few posts.

After the last post, Adeline came down with a nasty respiratory virus.  She was pretty sick for about a week, and I had to cancel my girl's weekend plans at the end of January.  Although I was so sad to miss girl time, I'm glad we decided to stay home.

Adeline had a bad cough, so we had to do nebulizer treatments 3 times per day.  Luckily, she is very laid back and didn't really mind the treatments.

The only good thing that happened that weekend was that Adeline took a 3 hour nap, so I finally had time to make a "pillowcase dress" for her.  It was so easy to make, and she can wear it as a tunic now, and as a dress in the summer.  I'm planning to make many more!

After about a week, Adeline was back to normal.  We were so happy to have our energetic, healthy girl back... Just in time for our trip to CHICAGO!
