Weekend Recap

This weekend was cloudy and rainy, so we spent a lot of time inside.  On Friday evening I had a work event at the Jefferson Hotel, so Rob stayed home to watch Adeline.  He did a great job with the evening/bedtime routine on his own, and by the time I got home, Adeline was sound asleep.

I am so fortunate to have a husband who is able to take care of the baby on his own. And we are both blessed to have such a good baby, who makes it easy to do so!

On Saturday morning, Adeline and I were up early to meet Anna and baby Palmer at a big consignment sale.  We were in line by 7:45am and we found some cute clothes, including holiday dresses, less than $3 each!  After the sale, the 4 of us went to brunch.  Both babies were so good and we ended up sitting at brunch for almost 2.5 hours!  We were having so much fun, I forgot to take any pictures!

We spent the rest of the day at home.  I snapped this picture of Adeline and I think she looks just like Rob!

 Adeline took a great nap both Saturday and Sunday... after 2 hours, I woke her up!

This morning, we were up early again for church.  Adeline just looked too cute, so I had to snap a few pictures.  She went to the church nursery for the first time, and of course she was a perfect angel!

We have chili cooking in the crockpot for tonight - a perfect meal for the first weekend of fall!  Have a great week!

Weekend at SML

Last weekend, we went back to Smith Mountain Lake to visit Rob's grandparents before they headed back to West Palm Beach for the winter.  Although it was rainy and chilly, we managed to get out to the boat show and we had a great time.

After dinner, we headed back to Richmond.  We started our new member classes at church on Sunday morning! 

Adeline meets Florence

Last Sunday, our friends Sarah and Brad came over for lunch with their sweet baby Florence.  We met Sarah and Brad when Rob was in law school, and they became good friends.  They live in SC now, so we dont get to see them very often. We often joke that our lives are parallel because we got married the same day and both had girls due around the same day in July. (Adeline was early and Florence was late, so they are actually a little over 2 months apart). 
Since they were in town, we arranged to have lunch together and introduce the girls.  We had so much fun comparing notes on raising little girls and we can't wait to see them again later this fall!

4 Months Old!

Adeline is 4 months old today!

We went to the doctor today for her 4 month check-up.  She weighs 11 lbs, 10 oz and is 22 and 1/2 inches long.  She is in the 10th percentile for her actual age, but the 50th percentile for her adjusted age.  She is healthy and happy and the doctor was very pleased! She had 2 vaccines today, and we go back in 2 weeks for 4 more.  In the next couple of months, the doctor recommended trying some solid foods.

She is sleeping from 8pm until 6:30am, when we usually have to wake her up so we can get to work on time! She smiles a lot and likes to put her hands in her mouth.  She's starting to reach for objects.

Tyler's Wedding Weekend, Part 2

On the morning of the wedding, I just had to dress Adeline in her finest dress (a gift from Rob's Grammie and Grandad).

In the early afternoon, I headed over to Tyler's parents' house to start getting ready for the wedding.  When I stepped out of the car, it almost took my breath away - everything looked so beautiful

I did Tyler's hair for the wedding, as well as a few bridesmaids. I was glad to do it, and I'm so happy Tyler liked her hair!  Talk about pressure! :)

 We spent most of the night on the dance floor.  The band was awesome!

A groomsman...who shall remain face-less... got a little too low on the dance floor.

 We sent them on a proper send-off with sparkers...

and they left by boat.

 It was perfect.

And thank goodness for my mom, who took care of Adeline while we enjoyed all of the wedding festivities. 

I'm pretty sure she didn't mind.
