Weekend in Lancaster

This weekend, we traveled to Lancaster for my cousin Kristi's wedding.  Despite the rainy weather, Kristi looked beautiful and everything went very smoothly.  It was great to spend time with the Will family - I havent seen many of them since Christmas.

Many thanks to Chelsea for lending me this maternity dress!

It's a miracle! Everyone has their eyes open.  It only took 3 tries!

This picture is somewhat inappropriate, but also very typical. We have similar pictures from other weddings we've been to. Although somehow it seems even more inappropriate with my baby bump....

Adeline's Room

BEFORE:
Here is what our guest room looked like before we gave it a makeover for Adeline:

AFTER:
Rob did an amazing job painting the room and putting in crown molding and chair rail - especially since I was not able to help very much.  I tried to stay away from paint fumes and heavy lifting, so he was on his own for the majority of the project.

It's a tiny room, but we were able to fit in a daybed, changing table, rocking chair, bookshelf and crib.  We were very fortunate to inherit the changing table and rocking chair from my parent's basement, and we bought the crib and daybed from craigslist.  Rob's parents gave us the bookshelf years ago, and we repurposed it from the old guest room.
Rob also made the cornices, and I covered them with fabric.  I was able to cover the old blue rocking chair cushions with a brighter green fabric and I made the crib skirt as well.  We used some random pink paint we had lying around to paint the mirror and letters on the wall.  We really love how it came together!  I'd still like to find a soft rug for the middle of the room, but otherwise it is finished.

Richmond Baby Shower

What a wonderful weekend!  My mom, Rob's mom, and Rob's sister came into town on friday.  We did some consignment shopping and had a nice quiet dinner at home on friday night. It was Chelsea's first night away from her 9 week old baby and I know it was not easy for her to get away, but I so appreciate the fact that she was here this weekend! She has been my lifeline throughout pregnancy and I'm sure she will prove to be even more invaluable as I learn to take care of a newborn!

Tyler, Kristen, and Mrs. Esbach threw a beautiful baby shower on Saturday at Tyler's house. They went all out on the decor, food, and even organized some party games.  Everything was pink and green, just like Adeline's room, including adorable little cupcakes!  They also had baby pictures of Rob and I around the house, which was such a sweet touch.

I am so grateful for my friends.  Allison flew from Charlotte to DC and drove into Richmond with Logan for the occasion, and a total of 20 girls attended the shower.  I think the highlight of the party was the games.  Kristen came up with a challenging game of baby trivia, which resulted in a lot of debate about the correct answer.  We also played the "how big is Melissa's belly" game, which was pretty entertaining.  My mom and Rob's mom were both very close, but my mom was the winner!

They totally spoiled me (and Adeline) with gifts - see pictures below! Now that I have more supplies for the baby, I am feeling much more prepared.  Her nursery is almost complete (pictures soon!).
