Big Girl!!!

Look what Adeline can do!

Happy Birthday, Rob!

We had a fun weekend in Raleigh to begin Rob's 29th Birthday celebration.

(this picture was actually last week, but it was too cute not to share)

On Friday night, we went to a nice dinner with Rushman and Neal. The weather was perfect and we all had a great time!

Adeline wore this adorable pants/tutu combo, so we had to take some pictures.

This is her new favorite face to make.  I call it the "Jack-O-lantern".  She sticks out her bottom teeth:

I had to post this one because this is totally an expression I make:

Adeline loooooooves earrings!

We had some ice cream after dinner.  Adeline is pouting in this picture because I stopped feeding her to take the picture and she wanted more!
On the way home, she had a crazy sugar high and squealed the entire way.

"No more ice cream??!!"

(Yes, we are all wearing pink.... not sure how that happened!)

For Rob's birthday tonight, I made his favorite mexican taquitos!

Happy Birthday, Rob! You are the best daddy in the whole world, and we love you so much!

Here we are last year on this day:

Time flies when you're having fun!  :)

Life Lately

We planned to have a few low-key weekends at home this month because May will be very busy, but things did not go as planned.  On April 10th, my uncle Michael passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly.  He was young and healthy and we were all shocked.  He was a very charismatic, outgoing, fun person to be around, and was loved by hundreds of people, many of whom attended his memorial service.  Luckily, he was excellent at giving advice;  his 4 children have many words of wisdom to keep and treasure, and they will last far beyond uncle Michael's too-short life.  I have been astounded by the strength and grace of my aunt Joy and cousins, as well as my entire family.  We all miss him greatly, and life will certainly be different without him.

In addition to traveling for work, Rob's birthday (today!), and Adeline's upcoming big birthday, we are moving to a new home in 3 weeks.  We are very excited to be moving to a larger home in our favorite neighborhood, but we have a lot to do to prepare!  Bear with me, and I promise to post pictures of the new house as soon as I have some decent ones to share.

Thanks for all of your support, kind words, and prayers for my family.  It means more than I can say.

11 Months!

(Sorry I'm over 2 weeks late on this post! Life has been hectic.... more on that later)

Adeline is 11 months old!

This month, she has changed a lot!  She started trying to crawl (more on that later) and pull into a kneeling position.  She is becoming a much better communicator; she mimics words and sounds we make, she waves "hi" and "bye", she shakes her head no when she doesnt want something, and she claps her hands when she likes something.  She started sleeping on her stomach this month.  She eats lots of different foods, and tried new things like grilled cheese, pizza, and ice cream this month! She typically eats chicken, veggies, and fruit for dinner.  She only has 3 formula bottles a day, and otherwise drinks whole milk, apple juice, or water from a sippy cup.
She has a great sense of humor.  She loves to do things to make others laugh, and she loves to giggle and laugh with her friends at Miss Chris' house.  She is just so sweet and fun to be around - I can hardly wait to pick her up every day after work!

As you can see by these pictures, she rarely sits still anymore:

Look how much she's grown in the past few months!

It's hard to believe she will be 1 next month.... I can't wait to show you all 12 pictures!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter weekend in Raleigh!
On Saturday morning, we went to downtown Raleigh for an Easter Egg Hunt.  We didnt end up actually hunting for any eggs because there were way too many people, but Adeline got a balloon and enjoyed watching all the action.

After the babies took a long nap, we headed to the park, where Cooper had a blast!

Adeline likes the swings, but I think she wishes she could run around like Cooper

The whole family!

On Sunday morning, the kids had an egg hunt in the kitchen

Cooper quickly discovered that the eggs were filled with cheerios and teddy grahams!
He figured out how to crack the eggs with his teeth - it was so funny

Adeline followed suit

Cooper would gather a handful of eggs and hide in the corner to savor his snacks!

After the egg hunt, we all got dressed up for church

We opened Easter baskets after church.

And enjoyed the beautiful weather

Sweet Cooper is on the run!

Two things about this picture of Adeline:
1) she had a little run-in with the bathtub on Saturday, which is why she has a bruise on her forehead!
2) Look at this little pout!  Rob is in T-R-O-U-B-L-E!

Further evidence for the bruise... Adeline is starting to try to crawl!

After this, the babies took naps while we had a nice quiet Easter supper. :)
Thanks to Yaya and Poppa for a great weekend!
