We had so much fun this month introducing Adeline to our Christmas traditions. At the beginning of the month, she didnt know anything about Santa, Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, etc. But by the end of the month, she was well-versed in everything Christmas! She was so sweet, talking about baby Jesus' Birthday and admiring Christmas lights wherever we went. In Adeline's opinion, the more tacky lights and inflatable Santas, the better!
This was her favorite house - she asked me to stop everytime we drove past. She would gasp and say, "Oh Momma, its so beeeiful."
We decorated for Christmas the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and Adeline helped!
We are fortunate to have nativity sets passed down from each of our families.
Adeline even had her own Christmas display in her bedroom!
We started on December 1st with a new tradition of wearing Christmas outfits, getting a picture taken in front of the tree, and putting another ornament on the Advent tree. This became the highlight of our mornings. Adeline and I had a fun Saturday morning in early December - we went to see the movie "Frozen" in the theater and then visited Santa at the local toy store. Adeline asked Santa for bouncy balls for Christmas.
Santa also visited Ms Chris' house during our annual Christmas party! Adeline made sure to re-iterate her request for bouncy balls.
The kids also made this delightful treat at Ms Chris' house. I think it was even too sugary for Adeline to eat!
We went to a University of Richmond Basketball game in mid-December and had lots of fun! We love living so close to campus. We hope to attend more games this season!
On December 21-22, we traveled to Lancaster to celebrate Christmas with my family. We made it just in time for the Annual Will Family Christmas Party! It was great to see everyone and catch up, and our family grows so much each year. We had over 40 family members at the party this year!
Later that evening, we exchanged gifts. Adeline just LOVES her "ballerina dress", ballerina doll, and play-doh!
And we had a quick breakfast and playdate with Kelly, Curtis, and Julia the next morning
On December 23rd, we had Kristen, Gibson, and baby Eliza over to our house for dinner. Adeline loves babies, and she was very happy to compare baby-rocking skills with Kristen.
On Christmas Eve, we went to the 4pm Children's Service at our church. This is our third year attending, and we really love that Adeline can participate with us. Just like last year, she loved singing and dancing to all of the Christmas hymns.

On Christmas morning, Adeline slept in until 9:30 and then she finally woke up to see what Santa brought. We were so excited to see her reaction when she walked into the living room, but she was sort of quiet - I think she was just really surprised and didnt know how to react! She was very happy to playwith her new tent, train table, and lots of other goodies from our generous friends and family. She was delighted to see that Santa ate a bite of the cookie she left for him.
And we cant forget about the bag of bouncy balls from Santa!

On the 27th, we welcomed Tucker into our family! We adopted him from the local SPCA. He's a Walker Hound mix, is 3 years old, and is very sweet. He is fitting in quite well!
On the Saturday after Christmas, we traveled to Raleigh to celebrate with the Bantas. We went to the park, exchanged gifts, and just enjoyed spending time together. Adeline loved the big pink teddy bear, hopscotch game, and blocks she received from her Yaya and Poppa.
For New Years Eve, we had some friends over to our house for dinner and board games. The girls had a blast and stayed up past 1am! We were so surprised they were playing so well together considering how late it was!
The girls were so funny. At 2 years old, they are very literal. So while we watched the ball drop on TV, they also held their balls over their heads and dropped them at midnight.
